June 13th

Mama's been wanting to show off my Baby Bjorn carrier for awhile now ...
Here it is! It's super comfy and whenever I get bored of being pushed in the stroller I scream my head off and Papa or Mama carry me in this. I like it so much that I prefer to fall asleep in this rather than the stroller!
Mama and Papa like it because it's super easy to adjust the size (cause you know how different in height Mama and Papa are), and there's a special Lumaer (ahem ... LUMBAR) support so they don't get backaches from carrying me.

See how comfy and happy I look?

June 12th

You know how lots of times you can't tell whether a baby is a boy or a girl?
Well mommy was wondering if I would look like a girl if she put girly clothes on me. And she didn't have anything girly to try on me until one day grandma came home with this. It's the girliest thing I have and mommy figured it would have to do. So tell me ... do I look girly, or do I still look boyish enough even when I wear questionable clothes?

First, here's another picture of me enjoying a quick rinse-off.

Tadaaaaa! Hi, I'm princess Aden!

June 10th

I love my bath time! Except for in the beginning when they wash my hair! But after that I get to soak in the water and be massaged and washed all over and its such a nice feeling! I feel like a prince! Wait a minute ... I am a prince!

Mama says sorry the photos are out of focus ... just focus on my cuteness!!!

I am so relaxed and warm ... I'm getting sleepy!

Papa and me

Lookin' fresh from my shower!

Mama thinks I look like a real bunny or sheep here!

One of my quirky faces. 'How you doin'?'

June 9th

On the 9th Mama took me to visit her friends who live up on a VERY high hill (I don't know if the hill is actually that big or if the road up to the house is just super steep).
There were lots of cute girls there and I enjoyed all the attention!

June 8th

Daddy doesn't want this getting out on Facebook so mommy sneaked it here. He was being foolish playing with different stages of his mustache but he forgot to shave off the final stage ... his HITLER!

10 weeks

So yesterday he passed his 10 weeks.

And yes, he still cries. (screams, is more like it). But the past couple of nights, he has been sleeping SO GOOD! (So good = only waking up on schedule to drink and go straight back to sleep) It's really made a difference in how I am able to take care of him during the day and I am just so thankful.
This week I had work, so it was a little stressful because daddy and grandma had to take care of him a lot, and Papoosie just wouldn't stop crying until he came back to me. I guess it's nice for me that he can tell who mama is, but between his crying just to be held by me and his stomach screams, poor dad and grandma got so stressed and tired.
This week he started crying just to be with me. No stomach aches, just crying to get back to mom. Once I held him again he would stop crying and calm down. So it took me a day or two to pick up on the new cry. So far I can tell the difference between his:
-hungry cry
-tired cry
-stomach ache cry
-bored/mommy/random cry
Of course I don't always get it 100% right ... but generally if I listen closely I can tell what's what.

He's been practicing his grabbing a lot. Before he used to just close his fist around something and be unable to open his hand again. He used to grab the hair at the back of his head and because his arm would be moving involuntarily, he would be pulling his own hair, and I guess it was painful for him cause he would start crying. And I know it's a little mean, but the whole circumstance of it was so cute and funny to me I couldn't help but laugh a little before coming to my sweetie's rescue. Nowadays he grabs his hair, but he is able to open his hand when he starts to pull his own hair. He opens and closes his hands and grabs things around him: his pacifier holder string, my bra strap (when he's nursing), etc etc ... whatever's around and grabbable he will get. I'm gonna have to watch out when he starts connecting the bringing things to his mouth business.

Today for the first time I tried to 'ferberize' him. I put that in quotation marks because it really isn't ferberizing ... its just getting him used to being put to bed without being rocked. Cause it was brought to my attention that maybe he's getting used to being held all the time (because of his colic) that now he doesn't sleep on his own. So I wanted to start to get him used to being put to sleep without being held cause God knows once he gets to be around 6 months he'll be so heavy I'm gonna have a hard time carrying him around all the time like I do now. So I put him on the bed, stomach first like he usually sleeps, and when he cried to much I changed him onto his back till he calmed down. I kept doing this for around an hour and a half ... he cried, I changed his position; he cried, I changed his position again. Finally it was too stressful for grandma so she wanted to pick him up but then he started freaking out to come be with me. So as soon as I took him and walked him to his room, he fell asleep and I put him back down in his crib. So I would say today was a success! I was only able to do it cause I was absolutely sure that he wasn't crying because his tummy hurt. Cause when his tummy hurts I have to hold him cause there isn't anything else I can do to help his pain but comfort him.
Anyway, I will continue to try to get him used to falling asleep on his own/in his crib and will update when progress is made.
Also out of the blue he started getting cradle cap. Ardit was so certain our baby wouldn't get it ... but as far as I remember, every single baby I've taken care of has had it ... so I wasn't too optimistic. Sure enough ... here it is! It's only a block on the front of his head ... hopefully it'll only be that area and not his whole head.

So another week has gone by and my Papoosie is happy (when not colicky), healthy, growing, and as cute as ever.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!!

Psssst Daddy! Happy Father's day! We like you very much and think you're a keeper! Congratulations on your first father's day and I can assure you that I'm not going anywhere so you'll have to prepare yourself to celebrate at least 18 or so more! Thank you for taking such good care of me and playing with me when mama can't. And thanks for teaching me about the girls.
We love you, papa!

Love,
Aiden and mama

9 weeks

So since I had a little time I thought to write up about his 9 weeks. I figure when I can, and when there are things to say, I will try to write weekly updates ... especially in the beginning when he's changing so much all the time.
This week he changed schedules. I think it had something to do with me being sick and daddy taking care of him at night instead of mommy. Now around 5 or 6 in the morning I will get up and switch with papa and take the baby. Daddy goes to bed, and baby wakes up around this time. He stays up for 4-5 hours. We eat, get a rinse-off, have play time, maybe a short walk around the neighborhood, and have our exercise time (his, not mine). Around 10 he'll start getting sleepy but he doesn't sleep all morning. He will sleep for 5-15 minutes, then wake up crying. He does this every hour. He gets his first good nap in the afternoon anywhere from 2-4. (Good nap meaning sleeping at least 30 minutes)
This week he said 'ma'. I KNEW he was gonna say mama first! It was just a random sound for him but up until now he has just been crying without any sounds like waaaaa or ba or da or whatever. So this is the first time he's done it and Papa was there too so we both had a laugh cause it's been a little bit of a bet between us which one he will say first. Looks like Mama is winning! And it's great seeing how he is starting to use his tongue to make sounds ... smacking sounds (not just with his lips, anymore!) etc.
He had a rough night last night ... kept daddy up pretty much the entire night. Seems like the cold I had went to Grandma and maybe rubbed off a little on him. He had a slight fever all night last night and all day today. We're picking up some fever med just in case tonight it gets worse. Poor baby.
I've gotta say thank you to Ardit for being such a trooper this past week while I have been sick. He's stayed with the baby during the night and taken such good care of him. Thanks babe! Ur the best!
This week we stopped giving baby the boob and put him back on bottles. It was half/half starting week 6/7 but this week we totally stopped. He seems to be better and keeping a better eating schedule and it's easier to feed him this way. The only mendokusai thing is that after feeding him I can't go straight to bed I gotta pump ... which adds 30 minutes onto the routine. Which is tiring at night. But you gotta do what you gotta do. If we go out I will still nurse him but if we're at home it's all bottles. Now he drinks 100-110 ml every 3 hours.
He is growing super much and I can't do the football hold with him anymore cause he's too big. He's also outgrowing his first set of clothes! Kyaaa ... gotta get onto buying him his winter clothes!

Here's a picture I took on June 1st. SO adorable when he sleeps!

May 30th

Godmother missed me so on one of my daily walks at the lake she took time out of her busy (cough cough) schedule to come see me.

And here is mommy being silly dressing me with towels after my bath as mother Teresa. I think I just look like a lonely shepherd boy.

May 29th

On the 29th I went out with mommy and daddy and cousin Arlinda and grandma. I went to visit great-grandma's house, and met great-grandpa for the first time! Unfortunately there are no photos cause I got hungry and cried to be fed.
But here are some pics of pretty cousin and grandma.

Look of luuurve!

2 months old

My Papoosie is 2 months old today~!
And I just talked about his progress a few days ago so there isn't too much to say except that he's really growing!
The grandparents joke that he only has two 'modes' ... sleep mode and cry mode. Course it isn't true but it just seems that way because the time he spends awake and happy is quite short compared to the time he spends awake and crying.
He really is my sweet baby though. When I carry him he grabs the sleeves of my dress like he's afraid he's going to fall off, and he likes staring at himself in the mirror. (he's gonna be a vain one!)
His hair has gone from black to blond/red and it really is the cutest thing.
Ever since this colic business started Ardit has started taking him out at 6 or 7 in the morning to the lake. It works well this way because it's still cool, Papoosie gets his fresh air and outside time, and Ardit can spend time with the baby (he's gone during the day a lot recently). If I'm not too tired I will go with them, but if I wasn't able to get sleep during the night I am able to get a couple of hours then so it's really a good arrangement. Then I will take him out again around 5 or 6 in the evening as it starts getting cooler, and when we get back we bathe him and try to put him down for the night. He really doesn't stay down for the night, but they say that it's good to start putting him in the habit of doing it so that he gets used to going down at a certain time, and doesn't stay up into strange hours of the night. I hope soon his colic is gone and we can start putting him on a good schedule. Even his eating schedule is screwed up now so I'm really looking forward to everything settling down into a good rhythm. How long did it take you and your baby to have a good schedule?
These past few days I came down with a nasty cold. Thankfully it only got really bad during the night when Ardit and mother-in-law were here and not during the day when I was alone at the house. So at night I could hardly even move and get up from the bed so Ardit and his mom took the baby for me and only brought him to me to nurse. They were such troopers ... I heard the baby crying a lot one of the nights so I felt so bad but I hardly had enough strength for myself so I just stayed in bed praying the baby would go down soon. And I was just hoping and praying so hard that baby wouldn't catch the cold either! This morning I felt so much better and so far the baby seems to be doing well against my nasty cold germs ... fingers are crossed.
Anyway, they say colic goes away at around 3 months so I'm counting down the days cause it just breaks my heart to see him in so much pain and so miserable. He really is the most pathetic thing when he is too tired to scream anymore but something still hurts so he is whimpering and the little tears fill up his eyes. It's just so sad and makes you wanna cry.
Anyway, I am so happy that my baby is growing up big and chubby. Besides his colic, he is gaining weight and growing fast, and when he is happy he is such a joy.
Here are some pictures I took of him on the 11th. I know I say it too much but he really is the cutest thing! And in these pictures you really can see how much his hair color has changed.

May 27th, A busy day

SUCH a busy boy I was! I started the day right ... with quality time with mama!

This is that glorious poop I told you about! I'm a poop cannon! I have really good aim, and my range is getting better and better!

Then I spent time with papa!
<iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/p5MmrkViP_A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

All the excitement exhausted me so I took some much needed alone time!

After my nap I felt refreshed so we went on an outing with my godparents!
And they had a gift for me! Thank you godparents!

I hope your day was just as fun as mine was!

Thank you A.Patty

Thank you for sending me this set! (And all the other stuff too!) I use the towel everyday! And this poncho-ish thingie kept me warm like an extra layer when it was still cold! It's nicer than a normal bib cause it catches all my slobber whichever way I turn my head ... even when I turn it all the way around backwards! I will save this for you for when you have your baby! (Mama thinks that will make you laugh)

P.S. Aren't I such a good model?

May 23rd, Lake

Another day out with the godparents!

Me in a rare moment of pacifier acceptance.

Papa looking so cool with his new hat.

Godfather is all pleased with himself because he managed to keep me asleep when godmother couldn't.

No, don't start crying!

I will give you a kiss if you stay asleep!

Haha, it worked!

A tender moment ...

Godmother's turn.

So sweet

Tiny hands

While godparents are  busy with me daddy took the chance to steal godfather's iphone.

And here's a little video of what happens when I get set on taking my sleeping time with mommy! My mommy is so mean she is laughing at my distress ... until she finally comes to my rescue.
