April 26th Quality time with Grandpa
So today mommy had to go take out her stitches, so Grandpa came to spend time with me!
I like Grandma and Grandpa cause they hold me and don't try to put me down right away like mommy and daddy do. Grandpa said he was scared in the beginning to pick me up because I am still so tiny, but mommy bundled me up in so many blankets to 'bulk me up'. And we got along JUUUST fine.
Later that evening mommy cut my nails for the first time! I was born with such looooong nails, daddy said it was probably all my punching and kicking and scratching that caused mommy's water to break. As if my little nails could break the bag of waters. Ha! Just in case you don't notice, I take after daddy with my fingers. I don't have stubby hands like mama, but my fingers are long and slender. They all say I'll be a pianist when I grow up. But mommy has short and stubby fingers and SHE plays the piano ... so why do I need long fingers to play huh? I don't understand ... but I guess they'll come in handy anyway.
April 25th First full body bath
Mommy says that in all her years of taking care of kids, giving them baths were the scariest part. So she left the actual washing up to grandma and daddy, and sat back to take pictures. But I was the best baby EVER! I didn't cry, but I enjoyed being pampered to the full! See how comfortable I look in the pictures! After all, who WOULDN'T want to just lay back in a hot tub and be washed and massaged all over! :P

April 24th
One fine Sunday cousin Arlinda came to visit. Here I am getting ready to charm her socks off!
Yep ... it's official! My eyes are BLACK! Not brown, not blue, not green, or even grey ... BLACK!
Here is my quirky one eye opening technique again ... I am using it to scope out the scene around me!
Forget pretending to sleep ... I'm HUNGRY!!!!
Still a little wrinkly .... haven't gotten my fat on yet!
Ahhhhh oh how nice it feels to be clean!! It also feels good cause this is how I spent the first 9 months of my life ... curled up in mom's tummy!

First Family Photo
I know, I know ... it was a major fail! But I promise the next one will be better! We took this for great-grandma Emiko in Japan to send to her because she doesn't have internet! As you can see Papoosie has jaundice and is one yellow pumpkin! Even compared to mommy who is naturally yellow!
Here's an extra one of papa being goofy. :D

23rd, Story time with Daddy!
I have the best dad in the whole world. Now I can't wait to grow up fast!
April 22nd, Another quirk
So here's a picture of another quirk I have. Why go to the trouble of opening both eyes, when you can do just as well with just one? You open one eye, like so, and see what's going on around you ... then you can quickly go back to sleep! I do this all the time and it works wonderfully, because then mom and dad don't think I am awake and start trying to play with me or give me tummy time, and I can sleep more!

April 21st, Foolishness
Ever since I was born I have loved to keep my hands up above my face in the 'hallelujah' position. Normally mommy and daddy swaddle me with the blankets and keep my arms by my sides, but my arms are freed during nurses, tummy time, and changing time, so whenever those times come around I do not hesitate to put my hands up! Mom and dad think this is so funny, so one day they were being foolish and decided to have some fun! This is what came of their foolishness ...

April 18th, Monday
Because I was born a preemie the doctor kept me in the hospital until Monday. Mommy was so happy when they finally released me!
While I was in the hospital, I was able to receive my very first visitors! Of course grandma came everyday to bring food for mommy and daddy, and grandpa even came twice when he wasn't busy setting up my new room at home! Besides them cousin Arlinda came with her cousin and they brought me flowers (appropriately blue cause I'm a boy!), and my godparents came bringing a pot of flowers (appropriately pink for mommy!), and Paul and Daisy came and brought me balloons! Well, I guess these things were more for mommy than for me, cause obviously I couldn't see anything for the first few days anyway! But it made mom happy cause the only things she wanted for a push present was flowers and balloons .... so she got what she wanted.
Here are some pictures mom took so she could remember them forever. Thank you godmother and godfather, and Paul and Daisy!!!
April 16th, 1 day old
Here is how my 1st day went ...
Cuddling after a nurse with mommy ...
I was finally able to open my eyes on my 2nd day!
I would be unhappy and whine until someone (daddy) would hold me!
Here I am getting my first bottom wash! As you can see I had quite the lung capacity, and I didn't hesitate to let everyone know what I thought about getting my bottom clean!
You can see my umbilical cord!
But after the wash I felt warm and it felt good to be clean!
