8 months old~!!!!

Kyaaaa getting so big!!!!

Just 4 more months till he's a whole year old, and 5 more months till Little Boss comes along!
He's learned quite a few new tricks this month ... the most dangerous being that he can pull himself up to stand and lean on the pillows, or arms of couches, etc. that I put up to keep him from rolling off the bed, or couch, etc.
He's also started crawling ... backward! hehehe ... He actually gets such a good crawling pose as he reaches for something from a sitting position, but then he gets too distracted trying to reach it that he just flops around on his belly and flails his arms and legs. But he does know how to scoot backward and the confused face he makes as he gets taken further away from the toy instead of closer is so priceless. He also knows how to just roll around everywhere so that eventually he DOES reach the toy, or the edge of the bed ... or any random place.

On December 5th his tooth popped out! The mouthsore I mentioned before turned out to be the tooth breaking out and the break in the gum getting infected. I probably wouldn't have noticed it until the mouthsore healed up ... but Papoosie happened to bite me ... woohoooo!! I don't think there was ever a more happy Mama to have her baby bite her! ehehehe
Here's a pic of the little thingie ... it's much bigger now ... but its the first pic I took of his toothie!!!

He 'talks' and 'sings', and 'dances', and is such an active baby. Almost too active for me! I really limit the amount that I pick him up and hold him because Little Boss is really starting to grow and both of them together is just too much for me. I try to keep him really happy and fill him up with the 'mommy' time by sitting down with him, playing lying down next to him, letting him sit in my lap during school time, etc. but he's at the age where he knows the difference between sitting and standing so it's hard sometimes. He falls asleep most days with grandma or daddy or even grandpa most nights now because he still refuses to sleep on his own. I have tried a few times, but the times when he isn't too tired he makes a fuss and grandma comes in and begs me to let her hold him. I told her I want him to get used to sleeping on his own before he gets too big (because by then Little Boss will be too big to let that happen), but she promised that she would hold him ... so I let her.
He still loves the Paci ... but now I've pretty much gotten him off of it during the day. He only cries for it when he's sleeping ... and I'm not sure how to get him off of it, but his teeth are coming in so I'm hoping that somehow the feel of the teeth will make him not like it anymore ... fingers are crossed.

Also coinciding with his 6 month vaccinations and tooth coming out he got real sickly/grumpy and turned into a 100% co-sleeper. He now refuses to sleep in his crib, but loves to snuggle up in our big bed and sleep with me. I tried putting the couch back up next to the bed like we did when he was first born ... but that doesn't work either. He needs to be right next to me sharing my blanket and practically with my arm around him ... kyaaaaaaaaaa ... what am I gonna do .... for now I just want to enjoy what time I have left to enjoy with him like this before I turn into a whale and there's no space for him to snuggle up next to me.

His eating is progressing really well. He can now takes small chunks of solids (cheese, chicken, biscuits, etc) and 'chews' them in his mouth before swallowing them. He still has some stomach problems where it's hard for him to make a bowel movement ... he really has to push and struggle and he cries a lot ... so I still only feed him veggie and fruit purees, or soup or yogurt. I have considered that the formula we give him might not fit him so well so we are going to switch to a different brand ... we'll see how that goes.

His measurements are:

Height: 67.5 cm
Head circumference: 42.5
Weight: 7.6 kg.

His height and head circumference didn't really change since last month but he gained 600 grams which is quite good for him! Still a small baby but he's perfect to me!

He's getting so smart and learning so many tricks but in general he is still such a good baby and is such a joy to have around, even on my sick days.

hrm

Posted this on my blog already but since it sort of had to do with baby I decided it couldn't hurt to post here toooooo .....

I get paid online.

Usually we live on Como-kun's salary and save mine for buying things online, or saving up. Recently most of Como-kun's jobs have been for big malls where they don't get the pay for 2 months so I withdrew a big chunk of my money for our daily spending needs. Thing is it's supposed to take up to 5 days to appear in the bank account. So our little cash bundle kept getting smaller and smaller and then the baby's formula ran out.
But the money hadn't arrived yet.
Of course 2000 yen is not a HUGE deal ... we probably could've borrowed it from mom-in-law or something ... but it was ... kind of a sinking feeling ...
Just that day I had checked my Japanese bank account and found the Japanese government had deposited the baby's birth money in! The full 420,000 yen! Whoo oohoooooo!!!
And we were expecting the big chunk to come from paypal anyday ...
So we were by no means poor or it wasn't our 'last 10 cents' or anything ... but it was ... just a sinking feeling THATS ALL!!!!!
It was more dramatic to me cause duh I'm pregnant and one morning there was no more formula and no more money to buy it and I could've cried!
I can't even feed my own baby anymore WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Well yes ... eventually I remembered that I had stashed away some baby money in some random place and it turned out to be just the amount I needed for the formula ... whew.

So all is well that ends well. Just another OMG! moment in the life of an emotional pregnant woman.

21 weeks

I had this post saved just waiting to add some things for his 21 week post but baby ended up not going to sleep till 11 and I had missed my nap so I just collapsed in sleep right after he did!

Thank Goodness the nights have been getting cooler. He still prefers to sleep in our big bed instead of in his room in his crib ... so one of us sleeps in his room and one of us sleeps with him at night.

-I mentioned in his 19 week post how he started grabbing his feet. Now he started eating his feet! It's just oh so cute! Here's a video of him doing it for the first time ... it was at night and he was lying on across my knees so it's kinda gnarly but maybe you'll be able to make it out ...

-I mentioned last week we would start to feed him and so far we've given him pureed (is that how you spell it?) carrot, peach, avocado, and apple and carrot juice. (We have a juicer so we make fruit/veggie juices when we feel up to it ... I water down the juice for the baby WAAAAAY much ... like 70 water and 30 juice)
He loves to eat and its funny because ever since we started feeding him he even started to drink a bit better and now he drinks the proper 700 ml every day (well it's supposed to be 750-900ml ... but don't discourage me now). Hooray!!!!

-He knows when it's time to go out and starts crying trying to tell us to take him outside. He just LOVES the outdoors!

-He started 'talking'. He used to make sounds like 'koi koi koi' (I mentioned this before) but now he just .... screams (for lack of a better word). No consonants or sounds (unless he's particularly 'talky') but he really likes to aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah .... if there's no one to talk to he'll just talk to the light above his face. If we are around and we plop ourselves down in front of him we can carry on a mini 'baby' conversation. But he doesn't do it in 'talking' levels ... he does it at a shout/screaming level. It's like he just discovered it and is trying to see how loud he can get his voice to be ... or if he's loud enough that someone will come and pay attention to him.

-He is quite the outgoing baby ... on the bus if he gets the attention of the person in front of him and they give him attention he will be happy. If we meet ppl on the street he generally laughs and smiles for them (girls especially). But there are certain people that no matter how often we meet he just doesn't like ...
He's really starting to be picky about who holds him. If a friend is holding him and he sees both daddy and mommy next to him he will look at us very closely for a few minutes before starting to cry. Almost like he's trying to decide if he likes being held by that particular person ... if they don't pass he yells, and if they pass he is happy with them and stays just fine.

We've gotten so many new clothes in the past couple of weeks (the 6-12 month clothes we ordered for him arrived as well) so I can't wait for him to make another growth jump and fit all his new clothes!

July 22nd

Here I am doing school with Daddy! I am such a good student! I do my reading exercises everyday!

Getting a little tired ...

 The focus!

Again with the hair! Mama felt left out from the last time Grandpa and daddy put my hair through the styles so she had some fun of her own ...

You can obviously tell what I think of THIS hairstyle ...

20 weeks

Gosh this week went REAL fast.

It's still been oh so hot that his night time schedule is SCREWED UP! Messed up I tell you! And I'm SUFFERING! He wakes up and just CANT get comfy enough to sleep again. We bring him to our bed where there is more air circulation (we have two fans going at opposite ends of the room)and he sleeps better but gosh darn I am OH SO TIRED. It's also because every spare minute I have I'm working to meet this crazy deadline to make money so we can get a CAR! (or something ...)

Still no drinking. Well, some days he does better .... but the days where he drinks the recommended 750 ml (that is the minimum btw) are more the exception. I'm actually not TOO worried cause he's healthy, happy, seems to be growing bigger and heavier, wets his diapers (although he doesn't go BM very often ... maybe only once a day). Its just a little stressful cause its a FIGHT to get any amount of milk into him and it causes more crying than if I were to leave him alone and wait for him to get hungry on his own.

We took him to the beach/pool for the first time and it was so fun (for me) ... but I'm so behind on my posting and I want to do everything in order ... so ur just gonna have to WAIT!
I've also taken oh so many pictures and videos but they also are shelved waiting for me to catch up with the posting. Fingers crossed ....

He's not too interested in rolling from his tummy time position ... but he loves grabbing his feet when he's on his back and letting his legs fall to one side. And that turns into a roll. He also kicks his feet and arches his back to roll from on his back position. He uses that motion to scoot along his mat or the bed ... he can actually MOVE himself now! No more leaving him on the couch or bed while I wash the bottles or fold his clothes ....

He LOVES videos! I have only been showing him his Little Reader lessons (5 minutes a day), and Baby Einstein videos (10-20 min), and he seemed to like it. But this week we noticed that whenever he is in the living room, or out in a restaurant somewhere where the TV is on ... his eyes just go to the TV and STAY there! Even if he's lying on his back and the TV is behind him he will arch his back so he can see it! We experimented with different TV programs, the ipod, ... he loves his videos! I was so determined that I wouldn't show my baby meaningless 'time-filler' type videos but gosh darn sometimes I gotta wash the dishes, or go bathroom, or clean and I NEED that 5, 10, or 15 minutes to do something .... what's a mom to do? I feel terrible that I'm going to end up letting him watch videos but I am STILL determined to make them as quality as possible. Now I just gotta figure out what constitutes 'quality'.

We bought him a dish set so we can start giving him a little food. I was determined to only give him breastmilk until he was 6 months, but with his drinking problem, and seeing how much he seems to like eating (I mentioned this before somewhere) ... we decided we would try to start giving him some foods SLOWLY (and by slowly I mean a couple spoons of something a DAY).

Gosh so many things I had my mind made up about going into having my baby, but so many things have already been shattered. It just goes to show its really up to the baby, the circumstances ... my baby is ONE STUBBORN child and is really forging his own way! The eating, the videos, the sleeping ... GOSH! And I am learning that I have to take the things that I wanted and adapt them to what works best and IS the best for my child. Not the easiest thing to do ... cause wouldn't it just be so nice if it worked out the way I 'planned' from the beginning. But I will learn ... cause God help my child if I don't.

July 20th

LOTS and LOTS of pictures today!

I was feeling lazy and only wanted to be held like this ....

I look better in color than I do in black and white ... what do you think?

Mama thinks I look oh so cute when I cry. I'm just mad that no one's picking me UP!

4 months old, 17 weeks

Happy 4 month birthday to my sweet Papoosie!

We took him to the doctor to get him measured and he hadn't grown too much ... he was 5.7 kg. So he only gained about 300 grams from one month ago. But in this heat he hadn't been drinking much so we sort of knew that would happen ... I was just hoping that he had reached 6 kg. Oh well ... next time.

This past week Grandma and Grandpa went for vacations to the beach, so I had a lot of time to spend as SERIOUS one-on-one time with him. I was able to regulate his schedule better, set better sleeping times, have school times, etc etc. I definitely appreciate all Grandma's help in taking Papoosie when I have to work ... but this was a great week too! We took daily walks to the Lake just the two of us, and when Daddy didn't have work we had real 'family days' with the 3 of us.

He is generally such a happy boy! He thrives when we give him attention, but gets angry fast when left alone. ... Solution ... give him TONS of attention! I found a trick that works tho ... he wakes up SO SO early in the morning, and I only took him out from around 7 to the Lake (in the morning ... we went TWICE every day this week!) ... and I want to sleep until then ... so around 5 (after I filled all the buckets with water, washed the dishes, and did a load of laundry), I would turn on the Baby Einstein video and set the computer down next to him on the bed so he could watch it ... and he would stay entertained for up to 30 minutes! He really seems to enjoy especially the animal one!

He's been talking oh so much these days, not just the 'ma' that he used to do ... but he added 'koi koi koi' and oooh and gaa and ... just general sounds. The 'koi koi koi' thing is funny cause in Japanese its 'come' and its like he's calling us to come keep him company :d.
He loves doing school ... (right now its just flashcards and signing videos and Little Reader ... but I'm getting more flashcards soon) and generally loves his bath (not so much washing his hair tho) ... and I've started trying to put him down for the night around 10 (working pretty good so far!)

He moves positions a lot when sleeping, and when awake he tries to flip onto his back (get lazy and decides to stay on his tummy most of the time).

There was something I wanted to write about at the beginning of the week but I've forgotten now. Oh well ... I'm uber tired so I'ma go to bed ... hopefully I will be able to start posting with regularity again. This week has just been so tiring and full with baby, water situation, cleaning, etc ... cause grandparents have been gone. And for some reason now I've got TONS of work so idk how much posting I actually am gonna get in ... but I have so so so many pictures that I gotta post or they'll just stack up.

Happy sweet sweet 4 months to Papoosie ... 3 more of these and he'll be a whole year old! Kyaaaa ... I hope he stays smaller for just a little while :d
Mama loves you muah muah muah!!!!

Nowadays sometimes when mommy or daddy is feeding me I like to do this ...

Yep, I'm a real diva!

June 20th

I wrote on his 10 week update how he's been practicing his grabbing a lot.
Here's a picture from that week of him 'holding' his pacifier. He's a pro now at grabbing his pacifier either by the handle, like in this picture, or by the pacifier string and pulling it out of his mouth. It's adorable but then he gets upset cause he wants it back and starts crying ... tsk tsk ...
In this picture he actually got two fingers into the holder ... and he was waving it around like a flag and poking the side of his face with it ... and he would turn his head to try to find it, but then with a jerk of his arms it was gone again ... it was soooo cute!

12 weeks

I'm so excited! Papoosie is 12 weeks today! (Well, I started writing this yesterday but couldn't finish it so I guess that makes it yesterday!)

Another week, and he continues to just grow and grow!
-Feeding schedule changed again ... and I'm still trying to adjust. One thing that's a con for bottle-feeding him is I can't just pull out the boob when I think he's hungry so he can feed. The bottle has to be warmed, and then if he doesn't want it, I either have to put it back in the fridge or hope he gets hungry within an hour or so or that bottle goes bye-bye to gomi-land. I would stress a lot about this but THANK GOD I have tons of milk (more than enough to spare if the bottle goes to waste) so its just a minor inconvenience and not a huge source of stress. I have started freezing the extra milk this week though. Not because I'm worried that I will run out, but because I had a dream that I had to go back to Japan for an emergency and there was an option of leaving the baby with papa for a few days because I had filled the freezer with pumped milk. I know its a stupid reason but I also don't like throwing the milk away ... of course unless something bad happens to me we probably wont use the frozen milk anyway and end up throwing it away ... but I'm trying not to think about that right now.
Strange thing I've noticed this week is he prefers my boob to the bottle. Which is nice and all ... but inconvenient if I happened to have pumped right before his drinking time. A few times I find myself using the boob to 'trick' him into drinking. I give him the boob and right before he really latches and starts suckling I quickly replace the nipple with the bottle and hope he doesn't notice! If he's hungry enough it works the first time ... cause once he starts drinking all is well ... but when he's super particular and fussy sometimes I have to let him suck on the boob for a couple minutes just so he's ... comforted? I don't know what his deal is. But he DEFINITELY falls asleep better if I nurse him at night to put him to bed.
-Sleeping schedule has stayed pretty stable. Which is so nice. He's starting to wake up only once or twice at night only to drink. Which is soooooooooooooooo nice. This past week I didn't even have to change his diaper at night because he only poops during the day! So even less cause for waking up for him! It's been a real real ... relief!
-Less tummy aches. He's doing so well and this week we haven't really given him the gas drops! Hoorah! He's only cried once or twice this week from tummy problems.
-Active. By god this boy is such a .... BOY! He CANNOT stop moving. And he's STRONG too. I can hold him up and let him kick off the ground ... and he can stay standing that way for quite awhile! He loves going from a squat kicking up into a straight standing position ... just like a frog! I am hoping his head stabilizes soon so we can stick him in the jumper saucer and he can get his kick on.
-Interactive. Getting so much more ... alert. Loves his playtime with me. I'm teaching him to roll (I don't care if you say it's too soon ... he loves it), sit (surrounding him with pillows and putting him in a sitting position and letting him fall whichever way he likes), and push things. He can pull his pacifier out of his mouth by grabbing the pacifier strap, and pretty much anything near his head he will grab (gotta replace my earrings with studs now!). His favorite toy is the big board covered with black and white images. I stand in front of him with it and he just stares and stares.

Those bags under my eyes have darkened and WONT GO AWAY! I always used to have bags but now they're BLACK! WAAAAAAAAAAa anyways just something I noticed recently in all the pictures. So now I always have to PS them off before I sent/post them anywhere.

So that was his 12th week and in just 1 week he'll be 3 months old!
I hope you haven't started to get bored of him cause there's no way I'm gonna stop posting pictures and writing about him. I don't have time to write in my journal anymore, so one day these words will be all I have of how he was when he was a wittle bitty thing.

Anyway ... as always ... a picture.

June 16th

Mama says she knows these are all so similar but she couldn't get rid of these cause the faces I make are too cute. Even though there are so many Mama actually had way more to choose from.
Anyway, I don't fit into this outfit anymore. And these pictures were taken only 2 weeks ago! I'm really growing fast and Mama is worried that I will outgrow all of my clothes before she has the chance to buy the new ones for me! I'm glad it's summer so that if all else fails I can just be a fat-so in my diaper without any clothes on!

Mama says this one is the cutest of the bunch!

Farting with my mouth ...

Farting? Me? No way!

Waving

The 'fencing' pose

The 'your such a stranger' face

Oh yeah? You want a piece of me?

June 12th

You know how lots of times you can't tell whether a baby is a boy or a girl?
Well mommy was wondering if I would look like a girl if she put girly clothes on me. And she didn't have anything girly to try on me until one day grandma came home with this. It's the girliest thing I have and mommy figured it would have to do. So tell me ... do I look girly, or do I still look boyish enough even when I wear questionable clothes?

First, here's another picture of me enjoying a quick rinse-off.

Tadaaaaa! Hi, I'm princess Aden!

June 10th

I love my bath time! Except for in the beginning when they wash my hair! But after that I get to soak in the water and be massaged and washed all over and its such a nice feeling! I feel like a prince! Wait a minute ... I am a prince!

Mama says sorry the photos are out of focus ... just focus on my cuteness!!!

I am so relaxed and warm ... I'm getting sleepy!

Papa and me

Lookin' fresh from my shower!

Mama thinks I look like a real bunny or sheep here!

One of my quirky faces. 'How you doin'?'

8 weeks old (pssst ... it's long ... feel free to skip!)

My baby is 8 weeks old today! And I've been meaning to blog for for his 6 weeks but that turned into his 7 weeks and that turned into this. It's what happens when between taking care of the baby, working, taking time with hubby, and hubby stealing computer, all my time gets eaten up. It's to be expected, I guess. But I also want some place where I have documented his growth (not just his baby book, because that only has the BIGGEST milestones included). And I have my journal where I wrote out stuff about my pregnancy, but nowadays as time is so much of the essence, I have decided its better to put it here because I type so much faster than I write. Although someday I hope to get around to writing it down too. No matter how convenient and nice and snazzy it is to blog and use the computer I will always love myself a good book, and writing in one. I'm just a little bit old fashioned that way. Anyway, I digress ... focus focus.

So, Papoosie is 8 weeks old today! And he will be 2 months old in 5 days! Although it seems a little pointless, I will probably blog on his 2 month again just to have a post on that day. (Ahem ... obsessive much?)

Between around 6 and 7 weeks I started trying to feed him exclusively from the boob (I had been pumping and giving him milk from the bottle not only because his mouth was too small to latch onto the boob properly, but so that we could monitor how much milk he was taking in). Due to that transition he started wanting to nurse every hour, and would only drink for 10-15 minutes. For a few days I worried, but I went onto my pregnancy forums and it seems like between catching him right on a growth spurt, and him getting too comfy at the boob and falling asleep, it was just bad timing. The main things I continued to watch was his diapers (which he continued to wet and soil properly), and the emptiness of the boob. And they seemed to be fine so I tried to continue. BUUUUUT ....

... At around 7 weeks when I was transitioning with him between the bottle and boob, he suddenly developed colic. Just from one day to the next he went from being a baby who hardly cried, to a screaming wailing monster! Well, even when he was screaming I wouldn't say he was a monster because he just looked and sounded like he was in so much pain, I could only feel sorry for him! Feeding him became even crazier because he would stay for 5 minutes, then wail till calmed, then stay for 5 minutes and wail again. I thought maybe it could be the acid reflux thingie (Gastroesophageal reflux) because they say babies who have that drink less in more frequent sittings to avoid the acid coming out. Even though he cries a lot I still consider us lucky compared to other cases I know because he screams and wails but never for more than 2 hours and actually it's usually only for 30 minutes or so before he tires himself out. We have our arsenal of remedies stocked: gas drops which also include mylicon which is supposed to encourage the growth or probodies in case it's that he needs (to help him digest the milk better), Gripe water for when he is having trouble burping and his acid reflux is bothering him, 3 different types of herbal tea (which we don't like giving him, but sometimes grandma sneaks it while we aren't watching), warm pads for his stomach to relieve the pain, and though it's not a remedy he also takes a vitamin 2 times a day. So all of this stuff adds up and we try not to give them all to him at the same time, because we don't know how all of these things mix. For example we try not to give him gas drop if we gave him the vitamin at that feeding, etc etc. Sometimes the remedies work, and sometimes they don't .... so as far as they go, when they work we are thankful, and even when they don't I guess we have the need to feel like we did everything we could to relieve his pain. But even though the success ratio is like 60-70%, I would recommend getting them cause when they work they work. Wow that really made a lot of sense.

Anyway, besides the medicines we've also tried anything we could. Music/white noise/nature sounds/heartbeat while he sleeps, changing sleeping position, bath time, etc etc etc. So far he seems to like the brook sound mixed with the heartbeat at a level LOUD enough to fill the room and have to speak loudly to be heard above it. It's getting hot here so he likes his bath time and staying in the water very much, until we take him out and try to dress him and then he starts screaming. He LOVES being taken outside so much that it's almost at the point where he will literally start crying as soon as we bring him home. He refuses to sleep on his back and will wake up after only 5 minutes or so unless we put him on his stomach. Which is a little frightening for me because they say that SIDS is more likely if they are put on their stomach. So we watch very carefully to make sure his head is positioned well, and quickly move his head if he faces straight. It's a little bit of a dilemma because we have started sleeping him in his crib in his own room since a couple days ago because it is so so so so hot and if he is in the room we don't open both the window and door cause it will let the wind blow through. Fine for the baby because he is fine with either just the window or the door being open but I still have layers of pregnancy fat to deal with and I get so so so so hot and it's too uncomfortable. During the day we check often and are able to watch him closely, but at night we have to sleep so we can't just get up every second just to check on him. We're going to buy a baby monitor that also has video so that every time we hear him move we can just peek real quick to see how he is positioned. We hadn't bought one before because I was planning on having baby sleep with us in the room until at least 6 months when hopefully I can bring his nighttime feeding to just once. So we'll have to buy a monitor. I'm sure I'm just being freaked for no reason because he is strong enough now to move his head on his own from side to side while on his stomach, so I'm sure that if he is unable to breath he will move his head on his own. It's not like he will be too intent on sleeping that he will forget to breathe, right? :D

I used to take care of babies so much but I don't remember about how we placed them to sleep! Parents, how have you let your baby sleep? Any opinions on letting the baby sleep on his tummy?

When we went for a quick checkup to the pediatrician a few days ago he weighed 4,500 grams with his clothes and nappy so they logged him at 4 kg.

Good news is that between his crying and fussy stages he is much more alert than a couple weeks ago, seems to know mommy and daddy more, tries to grab things (esp fingers and clothes!), 'talks' more, likes his song time, .... he's just growing and getting cuter every day~! His hair is getting lighter and is now a light brown/reddish/blond. He's losing everything that was like momma and getting to be so much like papa. I would be sad except I think it's cuter this way! :D:D

I know this is getting so long but please bear with me for one more topic.

Papoosie has an umbilical hernia. Seems they are more common in preemie babies. His is HUGE, and all the forums and books say that most of the time they start going in naturally around 6-12 months, but it doesn't stop me from still asking around to the parents here, or to you. Did your kids have the belly button sticking out, and around when did they start going back in? Did you have a problem with the skin getting red? The books say it's bad to put anything on it to push it in (i.e: belly belt, bandage, etc) but our pediatrician and grandma keep telling us to put something on it. I would prefer to leave it alone but would appreciate your opinions and experiences regarding this. I think I just need to hear your story so I can be reassured.

Anyway, thank you for slogging through all of this with me. I really would appreciate any feedback you might have especially regarding the things above. The crying/colic/tummy aches, sleeping position, and belly button.

Goodnight!

6th 3 weeks old!

I'm 3 weeks old today! I'm growing and getting bigger everyday!
I cried my first tears today! I also got to try the pacifier for the first time as well!
My screaming voice is getting louder, I drink almost 100ml of milk every feeding, and I'm spending a little more time every day awake! Usually after my midday feeding I have an hour or so of awake time and that's when I get in my tummy time, leg exercises, and playtime! I know when visitors are coming and make sure to stay asleep while they are here (I'm naughty like that). So if you're planning on coming to see me, you might want to do it around midday :D:D.
I have gained around 1 kilo since birth already! I can focus on things, and laugh at mom and dad, and suck my fingers. I also really like peeing on whoever is changing my diaper (usually mom) (again, yes, I'm naughty like that). I enjoy my daily bath times very much and cry very little.
I'm really growing up!!!

April 29th 2 Weeks old!

TADAAAA!!! I am 2 weeks old today! Here are some of my many faces ... some you have seen already, and some are new! And some for sure are going to turn into trademark Papoosie faces!
My mama says I am the most handsome old man Papoosie in the whole world! I would be worried about the wrinkles on my face, but I think they make me look more mature!
If you feel like it, comment below and let me know which of my faces you like the best!
